I thought about walking through the service station
to the back cooler to see if there was any deals on soda
but I just pumped the gas and left
I resigned from party life
because I didn’t get it
but goddamn it is hard to meet anyone without it

sometimes I put out fireworks in the middle of the road
but it isn’t the fourth of July and whenever I try
people aren’t trying to have much fun that night
I just thought about all my old tricks
that just made people quiet
I will settle for bored
